Student Conduct
Academic Regulations
USM International RECSAM Penang expects all students to uphold high standards of academic integrity, responsibility and conduct throughout their studies.
Students are expected to:
Maintain Academic Integrity
Complete academic work honestly and avoid cheating, plagiarism, fabrication and other forms of academic misconduct.
Follow University Rules
Comply with applicable USM rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Maintain Proper Conduct
Treat lecturers, staff and fellow students with respect and behave appropriately in academic and residential environments.
Meet Attendance Requirements
Attend scheduled classes, examinations and academic activities. Unauthorised absences may result in disciplinary action.
Observe Hostel Requirements
Comply with all hostel rules and maintain proper conduct, cleanliness and care of hostel facilities.
Take Responsibility
Report safety concerns, misconduct or damage to the appropriate University authority.
Academic Integrity
Academic Misconduct
Academic misconduct includes, but is not limited to:
- Cheating
- Plagiarism
- Fabrication or falsification
- Collusion
- Unauthorised assistance or submission of work
- Other violations of academic integrity
Violations may result in academic or disciplinary action in accordance with applicable University rules and procedures.
